Explorations: the Texas A&M Undergraduate Journal now accepting article proposals

The Explorations  Board is assembling a collection of short, general interest articles based on research or scholarly undergraduate projects for publication in the Fall 2013 issue of Explorations: the Texas A&M Undergraduate Journal.

Explorations  provides an opportunity for undergraduates to publish articles of general interest based on their research findings or scholarly activity.  The target audience includes parents, former students, and current high school seniors as well as the faculty, staff, and students of Texas A&M University and other institutions of higher learning. If chosen to complete a full article, students will be asked to write a 1000-2500 word article describing their work and its significance in a manner accessible to a broad audience. Submissions are welcome from all disciplines and all undergraduate students involved in research or scholarly activity (team submission also welcomed).

Please submit a proposal of your article (maximum 250 words) to https://scholasticahq.com/ by the deadline of noon Thursday January 31, 2013.  Specific writing and submission guidelines can be found at the url above, while tips for writing your proposal can be found at http://honors.tamu.edu/Research/ExplorationsSubmissions.html.

Note that submission of a proposal indicates a commitment to author a full article if chosen.  After reviewing all summaries, the Explorations  Board will issue invitations in early February 2013 to selected students to submit a full article.  The invitations will include guidelines and procedures.  Full articles will be subjected to a second round of review and successful submissions will be published in the Fall 2013 issue of Explorations.  Be a part of Explorations  as we celebrate our 5 year anniversary!
